ZIOFASCIST CALLS FOR ASSASSINATION OF PALESTINAN LEADER

There is some interesting flack we are getting for not dealing with ziofascists with as much fervor as we do other fascists. You know what? Those critics are right. We have slept on this BS. Not intentionally, but still it’s a rather bad oversight, especially how many like Geert Wilders, Mark Steyn, Daniel Pipes and Brigitte Gabriel are in our Rogues Gallery backlog. Then one of the critics challenged us to address an Isreali colonist and a real piece of work – and other things – named Nadia Matar, who along with her sister-in-law Ruth runs an anti-Arab outfit called Women in Green. How bad is she? Well the goals of her group are to make war with Palestinians, keep them from having any land and create a system of apartheid in Israel where Palestinians are not allowed to vote. Oh, and just last week Matar was in NYC and called for the assassination of Palestinan leaders, namely Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas. The group that brought her here, Americans for a Safe Israel has the same fascist bent as Women in Green, so we are going to have a lot of fun with this. To our critic: some challenge.

Democracy Now!

A prominent right-wing Israeli activist has publicly called for the assassination of Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas. Nadia Matar of the group Women in Green made the call last week during a speech in New York organized by Americans for a Safe Israel.

Nadia Matar was speaking at the Safra Synagogue in New York. The synagogue’s rabbi, Elie Abadie, condemned Matar’s remarks, saying he was “horrified at such hateful statements.”

NYC Rabbi renounces Nadia Matar and Americans For A Safe Israel after Mondoweiss report

Following Phil’s report on Nadia Matar’s call to assassinate Mahmoud Abbas at Safra Synagogue in Manhattan, J Street has taken up the issue. Today they are reporting on their blog that Rabbi Elie Abadie of Safra Synagogue has renounced Matar’s call and Americans For a Safe Israel, the organization that sponsored the event. Here is Rabbi Abadie’s statement on the event:

To Whom It May Concern,

Our Congregation shares in rejecting wholeheartedly the odious and repugnant remarks made at an Americans For A Safe Israel (AFSI) event that took place at our Synagogue on Wednesday March 18, 2009. On a personal level, I am horrified at such hateful statements, and I have made this clear to the organization. We did not sponsor or support that event, and neither I nor any member of our congregational staff was present. While the use of the premises has always been available on a non-discriminatory basis, the nature of the remarks made disqualifies the AFSI from any further use of the space.

Rabbi Elie Abadie, M.D.
