Isn’t it a curious thing how all these hardcore survivalists that end up on the run are always propped up as someone who can live off the land and will fight people like Rambo if cornered always end up getting nabbed living like a vagrant, malnourished and not putting up a fight at all? Add Charles Dyer to that list, and seriously, although we are not at all putting any precautionary warnings about him in doubt, if you are someone that is running from child rape charges, chances are, you are too much of a wuss to begin with. Dyer didn’t even get out of the area. The man is from Oklahoma and they found him in Texas! We guess ultimately this says a lot about his group the Oath Keepers. Dyer is their best known member, and if this is what we can expect from the rest of them, we much rather release them from their “oath”.

DUNCAN, Okla. — An accused child molester from Oklahoma is no longer a fugitive. His run from the law came to a screeching halt Thursday morning in Texas. Charles Dyer has not only been accused of sexually abusing a child but also of having a stolen grenade launcher.
When he was captured he had changed his look, growing hair and a beard.
Dyer was due in court last week in Stephens County when he suddenly disappeared.
Texas law enforcement says Dyer had been living homeless and without food for several days before his arrest.
It seems a tip from an alert citizen led to Dyer’s arrest just south of Houston.
The FBI says initially Dyer will most likely be brought back and be held in Grady County. After that he may be returned to Stephens County to face the sexual abuse charges.
Dyer is in custody in Texas where he’ll have to go before a magistrate before beginning the extradition process.
His family is thankful he wasn’t hurt.
They say they haven’t heard from him, but county officials are preparing for his arrival in Oklahoma.
“I say this, and it’s from the bottom of my heart, this had nothing to do with the militia. This has to do with an individual, Mr. Charles Dyer, and the allegations against him for abusing and sexually abusing a very small, young child,” Stephens County Sheriff Wayne McKinney said. “The militia doesn’t play a part in that. That’s a smoke screen to get the focus off of him.”
And portray the nationwide hunt for Dyer as harassment of a proclaimed member of anti-government militia groups instead of an alleged child molester, according to McKinney.
The sheriff says when Dyer was initially arrested last year, the sheriff has had personal threats as well as threats made against the county from militia groups.
Dyer’s capture Thursday morning is a relief to many.
“We didn’t want any innocent person to get hurt, and we didn’t want Mr. Dyer to get injured and that was accomplished this morning,” McKinney said.
Dyer’s mother, Jan Dyer, is thankful her son wasn’t harmed in the process.
“I’m just thrilled law enforcement didn’t kill him. That’s what we were worried about,” Jan Dyer said. “Law enforcement has never let us know that they even caught him yet. We’ve never been notified. We just praise God that he’s safe.”
It’s a manhunt officials believe would be ongoing without the help of several agencies spanning across two states.
“I think without their help, we’d still be looking for Mr. Dyer,” McKinney said.
It could take several days before Dyer is brought back to Oklahoma.
His run from the law is still under investigation, but officials believe he may have had help from fellow militia members.
