We knew it. When we heard that Marine Le Pen, head of the racist French Party National Front, was going to meet with Rep. Ron Paul sometime early November, we had a feeling that it would be this week – just in time for the white supremacist HL Mencken Club conference in Linthicum, MD, just outside Baltimore. Now no one has said that she would actually attend the conference, but she has a lot of supporters within that crowd, so you’ll never know. Le Pen is running for the French presidency, and has embarked on a five-day US tour where she hopes to meet with lawmakers and UN ambassadors. She also hopes to visit Occupy Wall Street, but given all the antifa there, she might want to think twice about that one. Even Ron Paul canceled on her it seems. Bad news: No word on if the left-leaning congressman Dennis Kucnich will. This looks to be a rather busy end of the week in DC, with an anti-immigration press conference tomorrow, a “Defending the American Dream Summit” sponsored by the Koch Bros’ Americans for Prosperity and of course the HL Mencken Club. So brace yourself for the right crapping all over the DC-Baltimore area, and be prepared for some interesting news coming out of the events of the next few days.

WASHINGTON, DC – During the same week a white supremacist conference is due to be held in the Baltimore area, a prominent white nationalist from France is visiting the US, with plans to meet with American politicians, although her announced meeting with US. Rep. and Presidential Candidiate Ron Paul, who himself has been connected to white supremacist activists in the recent past, has reportedly been canceled.
Marine Le Pen, who is currently running for President of France as the head of the National Front Party, is on a five-day U.S. Tour that started Tuesday, and will take her to Capitol Hill to meet with lawmakers and then to the United Nations. Although there has not been any mention of it on her schedule, the last two days of her tour is when the H.L. Mencken Club is scheduled to hold their conference at the Double Tree by Hilton Hotel in Linthicum, MD. The H.L Mencken Club’s president, Professor Paul Gottfreid, has defended Marine’s father, National Front Founder and Former President Jean-Marie Le Pen, from charges of antisemitism in the past. Jean-Marie Le Pen, has had several run-ins with the law for years because of his anti-Semitic stances, including denying the Holocaust which garnered him a criminal conviction in 2008 and in 2007 refering to then-candidate, now French President Nicholas Sarkozy as “foreign” for his Hungarian, Greek and Sephardic Jewish ancestry. The National Front, is known for it’s anti-immigration and Islamophobic views.
Two weeks ago controversy ensued when it was learned that there was a meeting scheduled with Rep. Ron Paul, who’s past history included opposing portions of the Civil Rights Act of 1964, accepting a campaign donation from Don Black, webmaster of the white supremacist website Stormfront, and publishing a newsletter that has featured articles that, among other things, suggested differences between blacks and whites in a derogatory manner. According to the UK newspaper the Telegraph, Paul pulled out of the meeting citing timetable problems, but Le Pen’s aides believe Paul and other lawmakers were pressured by French officials not to meet with her. Despite this, her party says she still plans to meet with “a ‘Democrat’ who ‘doesn’t correspond to majority thinking of his camp, but that his name would only be revealed on the day to avoid “pressure'”. US Rep. Dennis Kuchinich (D-OH) is listed on her schedule.
Today she plans to visit the Holocaust Museum in Washington, DC, a visit that has also generated controversy because of the National Front’s past. She then plans to have lunch with French ambassadors at the UN and then hopes to visit Occupy Wall Street, although it is not certain how she will be received by the decidedly left-leaning protest.
Marine LePen took over the National Front from her father in January.
