BISMARCK, ND – Craig Cobb, the neo-Nazi whose attempt to take over a small town in North Dakota was halted with his arrest, is refusing to eat food, saying he is practicing a form of spiritual enlightenment where his spirit will permanently leave his body around Christmas.

According to news reports (), Prosecutor Todd Schwarz says Cobb has not eaten for four days as of Monday while incarcerated at the Mercer County Jail in Stanton, where he’s held without bail for terrorizing his neighbors in Leith, ND. Cobb says it is not a hunger strike, but rather him practicing mahasamadhi, a form of spiritual enlightenment in which the physical body is permanently left behind.

Cobb is an follower of a religion called Creativity, which was founded by Ben Klassen in 1973. Klassen’s Church of the Creator hoped to expand the white race, to gain control of all of the land, and populate the earth with only white people. Klassen committed suicide twenty years later. His suicide note cited Chapter 59 of the COTC’s “White Man’s Bible” where it says suicide is “an honorable and dignified way to die for any . . . of a number of reasons, such as having come to the decision that life is no longer worthwhile.”

Cobb, 62, and an accomplice are facing 10-35 years in prison.
