Well, Hal Turner is talking about going out to Kingston, NY again because the incident that inspired him to go up there in the first place is back in the news, and it’s time for his monthly grab at attention. We’re not kidding! If you notice, he’s shooting off his mouth about doing something again just days after we removed the last blurb we had on him from the side bar that we had on him for the past month! People know he’s a showboater though, although we can’t help but wonder what in the world happened to all those rallies he promised us this year. You know, the ones that were supposed to be held in the top ten most crime-ridden areas? Guess the showboater didn’t want to run the risk of having his showboat sunk by some pissed-off locals, but we digress. Actually, this gives us an opportunity to update folks on the case that started all of this. While the WPs are trying to make this into something that benefits their agenda, the people who actually live in this town are dealing with it a little more rationally. This is going through the courts, as it should, and all will be said and done. There is a question of if what the DA wants is too harsh, but that’s going to be discussed as well. This is a story on that. UPDATE 9/19/05 Joseph Williams pled guilty to the crime, and will serve five days at the Ulster County jail and then five years probation. That’s FIVE days! Somehow, Turner had picked up Bill White’s penchant for distorting the facts because he turned the five days into 45! Then again he is also saying everything that is happening to Williams is his fault. Yeah, right. Lest we forget, Turner demanded Williams be charged with a hate crime and nothing less would be acceptable, or else he will come back “again, and again, and again!” So much for that, huh Hal? This is why we call them boneheads.

KINGSTON, NY – The alleged assailant in the fight that prompted white supremacist Hal Turner to hold a rally in Kingston last fall should spend weekends in jail for six months and be placed on probation for five years if convicted, the Ulster County district attorney said on Friday.
The accused, 18-year-old Joseph L. Williams, has been indicted for felony assault for allegedly attacking fellow Kingston High School student Robbie Hedrick on Oct. 7, 2005, outside the school. Hedrick suffered eye damage and multiple fractures to facial bones in the fight.
Williams was indicted for misdemeanor assault for allegedly assaulting KHS student Thomas Doyle during the same fight.
Williams has pleaded not guilty to both counts and is due back in Ulster County Court on Tuesday.
District Attorney Donald A. Williams (no relation to the defendant) said his office has made its recommendation to the court that Joseph Williams spend weekends in jail and be placed on probation. The maximum sentence for the defendant would be seven years in state prison if he’s convicted of felony assault.
The prosecutor also wants the defendant, if convicted, to wear an electronic monitoring device, except when in school, and compensate the victims’ families financially.
Turner, a New Jersey-based white supremacist and host of an Internet radio show, noted that Joseph Williams is black and Hedrick and Doyle are white in declaring the assault racially motivated and announcing plans to hold a rally last Nov. 19 on Broadway in Midtown Kingston.
The rally attracted about 40 Turner supporters (some wearing Nazi uniforms and symbols), 200 counterdemonstrators and 200 police officers. The crowd was unruly at times, but there was no violence and no one was arrested.
Police maintained all along that the Oct. 9 fight was not racially motivated, and the grand jury investigating the case agreed. In handing up the felony indictment, the panel said race did not play a role in the incident and that hate crime charges, which Turner called for, were not warranted.
Joseph Williams’ attorney, Holley Carnright of Saugerties, could not be reached for comment on Friday.
