Further advancing the conservatives vs. blacks crusade, Baltimore radio show host Tom Marr has approached the recent beating of a 76-year-old black man in that town by three white boneheads the usual way conservatives deal with such crimes – by using crimes committed by black people to deflect discussion about what the white racists did. The funny part is he spotlighted the two crimes that white supremacists routinely rally around, the brutal killings of five whites by the Carr Brothers in Wichita, KS and the rape and murder of a white couple in Knoxville, TN, the first trial in that case starting up this week. He did so because someone sent him an email calling him out as a racist because he would not talk about how the 76-year-old was attacked. Yeah, that’s right. His response to the email calling him a racist was to use the Baltimore case to take pot shots at black people. The typical crap coming from the usual suspects is a good sign that we are going to hear a lot about this case in the days and weeks to come, and they just picked up the other two suspects today. Meanwhile, we are learning a little more about Calvin Lockner, the only “adult” among the trio. We noted that he was listed as a violent sex offender, but what we didn’t know until now is that it was a 4-year-old girl he raped in 2000. That same year, he also tried to rape and kill a 39-year-old woman. This nets him eight years, then he got another two years when he failed to register as a sex offender. Despite this, don’t be too sure this latest assault will keep him in jail. Over the past three years we have seen boneheads kill a Hispanic man in Shenadoah, PA only to be found guilty of simple assault, another bonehead who killed a black man in Philly 17 years ago, and is cleared because one juror didn’t want to vote to convict and a third bonehead six months out of jail who sends a cop to the hospital and threatens other cops, but is still granted bail, even without having a known address. So we won’t say anything with surety about this case. Hey, Tom Marr, think you can find a black counterpart to those three outcomes?

BALTIMORE — Two teenagers were charged as adults Thursday in what police say was the racially motivated beating of an elderly black fisherman.
Zachary Watson, 17, and Emmanuel Miller, 16, told police they were with Calvin E. Lockner when he attacked the man early Tuesday in a city park on the Patapsco River, but they claimed not to have participated in the beating, according to charging documents. The three suspects, all of whom are white, are charged with attempted murder, assault and armed carjacking, among other crimes.
Lockner, 28, a white supremacist who uses “Hitler” as a nickname and has a tattoo of the Nazi leader, was arrested shortly after the beating. He told police the attack would not have happened if the victim had been white, court documents show.
All three were charged with attacking the victim because of his race. Maryland’s hate crime law allows prosecutors to seek tougher penalties for crimes motivated by race.
James A. Privott, 76, was punched, kicked and struck with a baseball bat while his assailants yelled racial slurs, according to charging documents in Lockner’s case.
Privott lost two teeth and suffered a possible broken eye socket. He was released from the University of Maryland Shock Trauma Center Wednesday night, a hospital spokeswoman said.
Privott could not be reached Thursday, but his wife, Ethel, told WBAL-TV in a brief interview that her husband was angry and shaken.
“He’s not well,” she told the station. “We go and try to have clean fun, and this is what happens. … I want them put away.”
The three suspects gave contradictory statements to police. According to the court files, Lockner told investigators that Watson beat the victim, while the teens said Lockner was responsible. Miller told police Lockner forced them to get into the victim’s sport-utility vehicle after the beating.
The assailants fled in Privott’s SUV, which crashed after police tracked it down with the aid of a theft-recovery device, the court files show.
Lockner, who told police he was a member of white supremacist groups including the Aryan Brotherhood, has been incarcerated for most of this decade.
He was charged in 2000 with raping a 38-year-old woman and a 4-year-old girl. He pleaded guilty to second-degree sex offense in the attack on the woman and was sentenced to eight years in prison, records show.
Although he confessed to raping the girl, prosecutors did not pursue that case because the victim’s mother did not want to put her through a trial, said Margaret T. Burns, a spokeswoman for the state’s attorney’s office.
He received another two years in 2007 for violating his probation by failing to register as a sex offender, prosecutors said. He also spent a few weeks in jail this year after he was accused of beating his wife. The charges were dropped.
Lockner has been ordered held without bail and will be represented by a public defender. It was not immediately clear whether the teens had attorneys.
