In case you have been under a rock over the past week, you might have missed when Former President Jimmy Carter called out some of President Barack Obama’s detractors as having racist motives to do so. Needless to say, the conservatives are on their denial game…again…and the particular conservatives that are on the warpath are the ones we had the most questions about…again. We should note that Carter’s remarks came out a day before Rush Limbaugh took the case of a white high school student in Illinois being assaulted by black teens on a school bus, calling it part of “Obama’s America” and a few days later suggesting segregated buses. And of course, Carter’s remarks come in response to Rep. Joe Wilson, who is known these days as the congressman who screamed out “You Lie!” during President Obama’s joint congressional session last week. Wilson has worked with anti-immigration groups like the Minuteklan (he keeps his distance from that crowd nowadays), and is a member of the Sons of Confederate Veterans, which, as Max Blumenthal notes in this article, has been taken over and run by white supremacists. So it’s not like conservatives don’t know where all this is coming from. Well, now they are really going to be upset. Comedian Bill Cosby’s lectures on personal responsibility to the black community made him the great black hope to conservative like “Cal Thomas, who wrote, he is “the voice that black people should be listening to”, noting a 2004 appearance at Jesse Jackson’s PUSH conference where ” Cosby called on his fellow blacks to stop blaming the ‘white man’ for their problems.” We wonder what ol’ Cal is going to say now that Cosby used a Facebook message not only defending President Carter, but likening those persons in congress blocking health care reform to “Birth of a Nation”. What, you thought only black people needed a lecture from the Cos? Apparently folks forgot the white racist who killed his son. We know someone at Stormfront did, and you will see what we mean at the bottom of this article. Anyway, if there is someone who is going to know what racism looks like and who is responsible for it, Cosby will be that person, so let us all take Cal Thomas’ advice. Cosby is someone we all should be listening to. Cal and other conservatives are going to be so pissed after how much they tried to use Cosby against his own people!

I agree with President Carter that racism is playing a role in recent outbursts against President Obama. During President Obama’s speech on the status of health care reform, some members of congress engaged in a public display of disrespect. While one Representative hurled the now infamous “you lie” insult at the President, others made their lack of interest known by exhibiting rude behavior such as deliberately yawning and sending text messages.
Health care reform is the most important domestic issue facing America today. Disease does not discriminate. African American, White, Asian, Latino, Republican, Democrat, no one in America is immune. So it seems obvious that a debate on health care reform should not include views born solely of partisanship or bigotry.
Various polls prior to the election indicated that between five and ten percent of Americans would never vote for an African American president. That number, of course, only includes those who actually admitted to their prejudice. How many others harbored such feelings but did not respond honestly when asked the question? And how many people oppose Obama’s plan because the President is African American?
In “Birth of a Nation,” D.W. Griffith used white actors in black face to portray black legislators as having low intelligence and acting like fools. Today, we have a band of real life congressional fools seemingly bent on blocking any meaningful reform of the health care system. But if we allow even one American to die simply because he or she cannot afford treatment, we are creating a shameful scenario that could aptly be called “Death of a Nation.”
This is why we call them boneheads over at Stormfront
On Jan. 16, 1997, Ennis Cosby, the son of comedian Bill Cosby was shot and killed while trying to fix his car’s tire. In the wake of Bill Cosby’s defense of Jimmy Carter, this clown over at Stormfront calling himself “bdavis” had this to say:
“Was it the evil white racist who killed his son? No it was a negro just like him. He needs to go back to focusing on the negro crime problem”

But just a sec, bdavis. Let’s take a closer look at the man who killed his son. Here’s his photo:
His name is Mikhail Markhasev, an immigrant from the Ukraine. According to prosecutor Anne Ingalls, Markhasev told his friend, “I shot the nigger. It’s all over the news.”
So yeah, it was the evil white racist. What say, bdavis, you let Cosby speak on whatever he wants, okay? Unlike you, he knows what he is talking about.
