OKAY, WHERE THE HELL IS KEVIN MARTIN?

Kevin Martin’s the one who wanted to cover for James O’Keefe attending a white supremacist forum. He’s the one who wants to help Andrew Breitbart spin people away from dealing with racism coming from conservatives. He’s the one who challenged DLJ to a debate to, as he says, “have a real debate on the issues in this Era of Obama and big government Progressivism.” We didn’t ask him to do this, didn’t expect him to do this, but we damn sure loved the idea! So we announced that we accepted on this website on Twitter and on Facebook. We contacted Breitbart.com to let them know. We contacted Project 21, the black conservative group Kevin is a member of. We called him. And what are we left with? No Kevin, and no debate – at least for now. And we are not happy about it either. In his article Kevin wrote, “I have been looking forward for years to debate so-called progressives on the issues, but you tend to have other things to do or can’t make the forum in the past.” Then damnit let’s do this! We provide with this link the email we sent and audio of DLJ calling Martin, and hopefully it will jar someone to do something. While it is unlikely that Martin’s original suggestion of April 30 is not going to be possible, that doesn’t mean this can’t happen. This is not going to be another situation where Andrew Breitbart does all the talking. It is getting very old how Breitbart speaks for O’Keefe – who has not spoke on attending that forum while everyone else has – and Kenneth Gladney, the black flag vendor who Breitbart says was attacked and called the N-word by union members at a St. Louis tea party protest – who has not been heard from in months and might be getting tired of being used by activists. That’s bad enough for Breitbart, considering how he is challenging someone to “prove” with video the N-word was used at congressmen voting for the health care bill a few weeks ago, a condition he doesn’t feel he needs to meet regarding Gladney. If Martin doesn’t follow through on this debate, we are damn sure going to want to know why – and Breitbart is going to be the one of the people we ask. We hope that isn’t the case.

I apologize for the two emails. I had accidentially sent the first without
a subject line.

Dear Mr. Martin:

We have posted on the One People’s Project website that I do indeed accept
your invitation to discuss the issues that you have addressed in your
recent article found here:

http://bigjournalism.com/kmartin/2010/03/28/hey-daryle-lamont-jenkins-lets-have-a-real-debate-on-the-issues/#idc-cover

April 30th in Washington, DC is an acceptable date. It is only a matter of
where in the DC area it will be held, and I will be working to secure that
location. As you know, this is something I have been wanting for a very
long time, and I look forward to the discussion. If you or anyone else has
any questions, feel free to contact me at (267)970-5889 or email me at
[email protected]. That contact information is public, so feel
free to forward it to any interested parties.

Sincerely,
Daryle Lamont Jenkins
