YOU WON'T CATCH MRSA AT THE 941 THEATER THIS SUNDAY; BAND THAT PERFORMED AT UPRISE KICKED OFF BATTLE OF BANDS EVENT

MRSA is a young band, so we are hoping they will grow up real soon. In the meantime, they are going to have a hard time finding gigs because of their little appearance at Uprise 2009, the white power show that took place in Lebanon, PA earlier this month. It already cost them the following gig. They were supposed to play a Battle of the Bands show in their hometown of Philadelphia, a show that if they won could have netted them $20,000. Well, once the promoters found out about their last gig, and who they were associating themselves with, they were done. Jersey Shows is the promoter, and they work with a lot of good bands. They were the ones who promoted the Inspecter 7 reunion show. Bottom line, they are a reputable crew, and do not deserve to have their name sullied with a band like this. Mad props go out to them and the local antifa, and may the best band win – now that the worst band is out.

PHILADELPHIA–A band scheduled to perform at a Battle of the Bands event taking place this weekend has been kicked off the bill after it was learned they performed at a white power show in Lebanon, PA.

MRSA, a new band based in Philadelphia, was scheduled to play the Sunday show with seven other bands at the 941 Theater in the Northern Liberties section of town, the winner receiving $20,000. However, their participation raised a red flag with anti-racist activists, because their most recent gig was at Uprise 2009 on Feb. 7, which was sponsored by three white power record labels and promoted by Keystone State “Skinheads” (KSS).

A spokesperson for Jersey Shows, the promoter of the event, told One People’s Project they had no idea MRSA was associated with white power groups until they were shown their MySpace profile which features pictures of them performing on MySpace, the Uprise 2009 blog which thanked MRSA for playing, and a Stormfront thread on Uprise where at least one poster said he intended to come to Sunday’s show to see them.

According to the Jersey Shows spokesperson, the Battle of the Bands is open to all types of music, received requests from over 300 bands, and were shocked to find that one that was on the bill has associations with such groups as the KSS. Within an hour of learning this, they were removed from all promotion of the event, and extra security will be at the 941 Theater in case any problems still arise.
