ACORN UNJUSTLY ATTACKED BY THE RIGHT

O'Keefe Breitbart GilesAndrew Breitbart and James O’Keefe shouldn’t just go away. They need to pay for this. Because of their political stunts, ACORN hashad to close up shop. Although they will continue their work, they have been damaged by a few racist idiots who we have busted either working with or pushing forward white supremacists in this country. Now they have to be damages. It has now been learned that the videos that James O’Keefe put out were in fact doctored. The videos even show the ACORN workers calling the cops on O’Keefe and his cohort Hannah Giles – which is something O’Keefe said they didn’t do. Breitbart.com, as we already know, is a complete fraud. That is why Breitbart threw temper tatrums at CPAC. That is why Kevin Martin challenges DLJ to a debate on Breitbart’s website, but never calls back when DLJ accepts. And that’s why we are going to stay on Andrew Breitbart and his crew until they are completely finished. And let this serve as a lesson to other conservative activists: If you are this intentionally wrong, you are going to pay for it. Breitbart, O’Keefe and Giles are about to learn that the hard way. Let Little Andy’s temper tantrums begin.

ACORN, the mostly African American community activist group is now defunct.

They basically tried to help poor people get a leg-up in America. They pushed for a higher minimum wage, against discrimination both in and out of the work place. They registered voters. And while some of that registering in fact was sloppy or questionable, (and they have answered for it legally), it didn’t kill ACORN. A successful right wing campaign, mostly based on untruths did that.

California’s Attorney General, Jerry Brown, released his assessment of what really happened in the supposed ACORN pimp video scandal that ultimately brought the group down. This video from conservative activist James O’Keefe, showed O’Keefe dressed up like a pimp, with his hooker in tow, and walking into various ACORN offices. He convinced some ACORN workers to give him advice on handling the finances of his prostitution business. Mr. O’Keefe and his pimp video were promoted by an offshoot of the right-wing Web site, “The Drudge Report.” Many personalities on Fox News pushed for ACORN’s demise from the outset, constantly playing the video.

It should’ve been a tip-off when Mr. O’Keefe refused to release unedited versions of what he actually taped in those ACORN Offices. What Fox News decided to show from these videos was damming. But, it wasn’t true.

A. G. Brown got a hold of the unedited O’Keefe tapes, before they were cut. Brown describes O’Keefe’s pimp video as “severely edited” and says that the unedited videotapes show “that things are not always as partisan zealots portray them through highly selective editing of reality.”

In fact, O’Keefe didn’t actually go into the ACORN Offices dressed as a pimp. Brown says, “At the beginning and end of the Internet videos, Mr. O’Keefe was dressed as a 1970’s pimp. But in his actual taped sessions with ACORN workers, he was dressed in a shirt and tie. He never claimed he was a pimp.”

Brown continues, “The original storm of publicity created by O’Keefe’s videotapes was instrumental in ACORN’s subsequent denunciation in Congress, a sudden tourniquet on its funding, and the organization’s eventual collapse.”

Here’s a couple of items you probably didn’t see in the news. Climate-gate, the faux controversy promoted by climate change deniers that British scientists who provided evidence that climate change was real had been caught making up the data. The British House of Commons officially investigated the controversy and found that no one misrepresented any data.

And, according to newly confirmed U.S. Senator Scott Brown, MSNBC’s progressive TV Rachel Maddow is running against him when his senate seat comes up for grabs. One problem – it’s not true. Maddow has denied several times knowing anything about this and has even taken an ad out in the Boston Globe denying it. But Brown’s staff keep repeating it. Maddow’s staff has called Brown’s office four times and they’ve yet to return the call.

One can only imagine that Brown is trying to scare Massachusetts voters into thinking that they’d better re-elect him, or they may have that liberal Maddow as one of their US senators. What’s happening to the GOP and conservatives and their veracity?

Here’s some hypocritical tidbits. When Republicans complain President Obama is using recess appointments, where were they when George W. Bush used them? The GOP is outraged over a mandate in health care reform, yet it’s a Republican idea. The GOP feign outrage over terrorism suspects being read their Miranda rights. Yet the Bush administration did it as well. The same goes for the Republican outrage over civilian trials for terrorism suspects.

If the GOP wasn’t outraged with the shoe bomber getting a civilian trial under President Bush, why were they apoplectic about the underpants bomber getting a civilian trial? The GOP is also feigning its outrage over the stimulus package. In public they constantly say it’s weak, misdirected, or costs too much. But in their home districts, they admit that it’s working and get photo ops with them standing by a new public works project or the like.

A couple of weeks ago Rush Limbaugh, Fox News contributor and author Michelle Malkan and Congresswoman Michele Bachman, all claimed that President Obama was banning sports fishing! I’ve no idea where that kooky idea came from. But see it doesn’t matter anymore. Lies are truth and black is white.

What’s so disturbing is the mainstream media mostly ignore this stuff. Comics like Jon Stewart, Stephen Colbert and Bill Maher rightfully lampoon it. But when there are enough foolish Americans who will believe it, repeat it and vote accordingly, we’ve lost our way as a country.

Everyone has a right to their own opinions, but not to their own facts. People need to remember that the CEO of Fox News is Roger Ailes, the man that made Rush Limbaugh.
