RAUL GRIJALVA: AMERICAN HERO

We have someone from the Minuteklan in Arizona calling for veterans with kill records to patrol the border. And Arizona Rep. Raul Grijalva shut down two of his offices to death threats. And why? because he called for the boycott of his own state after they passed the racial profiling bill last week. Folks, this is what a public servant looks like. When it’s not about your career and your prestige, and you do not kow tow to the Faux News narrative, you are doing the business of those you were elected to serve. This bill that was passed in Arizona is not going to fly and it will be squashed. As Republican strategist and lawyer Ron Christie pointed out on MSNBC today, the Supreme Court doesn’t let things stand when race plays a major role, so don’t expect longevity out of this bill. Still, once again conservatives are showing us the fascistic approach they take to the issues that concern us. And it is being fought. Hard. Very hard. If and when conservatives ever get into any significant degree of power, it would not be anyone from this crowd. We cannot afford it as a society. Raul Grijalva is concerned about his state and his people, and we have to wonder if those that support this stupid bill ever did.

Raul Grijalva is Co-Chair of the Democratic Progressive Caucus. He is also the most recent recipient hate from the ominous emerging Republican and right-wing media violent sedition movement:

Grijalva’s spokesman, Adam Sarvana said the office received “some pretty scary calls,” including two from the same person, “who threatened to go down there and blow everyone’s brains out then go to the border to shoot Mexicans.”

In response to the Draconian and unconstitutional Arizona law targeting anyone who might even look like an illegal immigrant, Grijalva, who is a U.S. Representative from Arizona (AZ-7), called for a boycott of his own state:

Not only did Grijalva continue to call for a boycott of convention business for the state, but he sent a letter to President Obama asking him to limit federal cooperation with Arizona officials.

Grijalva called on Obama to reject the bill and predicted it would not hold up to legal scrutiny. “This law will put every policeman in the state on notice that their main duty from now on is to question Hispanics about their citizenship,” Grijalva said in a statement. “This is a discriminatory policy that cannot be enforced without committing grave breaches of due process and equal protection.”

In a democracy, it is the essence of tyranny to arrest people based on racial stereotyping at merely an eye’s glance.

In the frightening environment of the domestic terrorist and hate movement fomented by FOX Fraudcasting, the Tea Party, militias, and so many more right wing seditionists, Grijalva has shown extraordinary courage in truly understanding the American Constitution and its protections.
