CALL THE PARAMEDICS KICKED OUT OF THE SIDEBAR, BALTIMORE MD

As reported earlier, the scene in Baltimore is a little more Nazi free as the Sidebar, the club Call the Paramedics was planning on playing on July 21, turned them away after word got out about their Nazi leanings. Yeah, they might want to play this routine that they are just some happy-go-lucky shock band, but they are learning that some of us can’t take a joke, particularly the joke that is Atlantic City “Skinheads”. That’s the crew that this band is associated with, and we suspect it will cost them more as we go along. Now they are still scheduled to play in Philly and New Jersey, but that could change too. And even if it doesn’t, people know this band now and they will be poison to whomever books them in the future. It’s not going to be as easy as it was before someone spoke up. UPDATE: Call the Paramedics will NOT be playing their alternative venue Krugs Place in Frederick,MD as earlier reported. They have since been pulled off the bill. To celebrate, we changed our picture, since we hear the band is fans of our artwork!

Call the Paramedics, an Atlantic City NJ band with pretty obvious ties to neo-Nazis, particularly to Atlantic City “Skinheads”, and misogynist messages (“It’s not rape, it’s surprise sex!”), were slated to play Baltimore’s Sidebar Tavern July 21st. To put it simply, it ain’t gonna happen. Ever.

The Sidebar has good reputation as a good venue, friendly to anti-fascists, with a damned good track record of keeping Nazi trash out. So we can’t blame them if occasionally a sketchy group manages to slip through the cracks. We can, however, applaud them for immediately pulling the plug as soon as we informed them who they were hosting. The good folks at the Sidebar have made it perfectly clear: note only will Call the Paramedics not be playing on the 21st, they will NEVER play at the Sidebar.

Cheers to one more venue taking a hard stand against fascist scum!
