COUNTY GOP HEAD CHOOSES TO RESIGN THAN LEAVE C OF CC

CasteelIt has just been a lousy week for the Council of Conservative Citizens crowd, hasn’t it? First one of their board members has his little American Renaissance Conference pulled out from underneath him by a community that doesn’t want him and his cohorts around, and then one of its members is bounced out of a leadership position in the GOP because of his associations with them. John Casteel of Arkansas (right) has quite the resume with the Republican Party down there, but it wasn’t enough to quell concerns that he is a C of CC member. The local GOP called on him to sever his ties with them, then they asked him to resign. He chose to resign. Frankly he should have just stayed. It isn’t like they are fooling anyone down there. Isn’t this the same Republican Party who gave us Mike Huckabee, who despite giving a videotaped speech to a C of CC conference while he was Lt. Governor wasn’t hampered in his runs for Governor and might yet again be a Presidential contender? As we said before, the handwriting’s on the wall for this particular group, so maybe that might make the difference. A few more shots like this, and their little attempt to boycott the upcoming Thore movie because a black man is playing a Norse God is going to seem to be the most highbrow they can get!

“I am officially resigning from the position of Republican Party Chairman for Jackson County,” Casteel said. “I am also resigning from the Chairmanship of the Republican County Chairman’s Association.”
Some have labeled Casteel a racist for being a member of the group, but he insists he is not.
“I belong to the Council of Conservative Citizens, which is not a white supremacist organization,” Casteel said. “It is a conservative organization that stands for the principals this country was founded on, and we not only fight for the rights of Caucasian people. We fight for the rights of all races.”
The controversy first arose when a liberal blog found out that Casteel’s email address appeared on a webpage with contact information for the Arkansas chapter of the council. BlueArkansasBlog.com writer La Voix uncovered the link between Casteel and the council after reading an ad on Craig’s list posted on January 16.
The Republican Party of Arkansas was contacted by the Independent Wednesday. Their spokesperson declined to comment on Casteel’s link to the council saying it was “a party matter.” The AP article states that Republican State Chairman Doyle Webb has asked Casteel to give up membership to the Council of Conservative Citizens, but Casteel has chosen to remain a member of the St. Louis-based organization.
The Council of Conservative Citizens claims to be “the only serious nationwide activist group that sticks up for white rights” and has two links on its homepage to articles that attempt to disprove the achievements of African American inventors.
The Council has 14 statements of principal listed on their website, and Casteel cites them as proof they are not a racist organization.
They are:
1. We believe the United States is a Christian country.
2. We believe the United States is a European country and that Americans are part of the European people.
3. The United States is a sovereign and independent nation.
4. The United States is a constitutional republic.
5. We believe in States’ Rights, the Right to Keep and Bear Arms, and the Bill of Rights.
6. The traditional family is the basic unit of human society.
7. Private property and free enterprise are the foundations of our economy.
8. Cultural, national, and racial integrity.
9. A Strong National Defense.
10. America First Foreign Policy.
11. America First Trade Policy.
12. Traditional Education under Local Control.
13. Strong and Just Law Enforcement.
14. Protection of the Environment and Natural Heritage.
