ANTI-MUSLIM TEMPLE U GRAD STUDENT IS NOW SMEARING TRAYVON WITH FAKE PHOTO

Alvaro WatsonWe have spoken of Alvaro Watson before, because we feel he is among those dirtbags that is using the political industry to advance the bigotry he holds, namely the bigotry against Muslims. But now Alvaro has made himself a part of that crowd that thinks that they can score some points by smearing Trayvon Martin. And he is quickly making himself look like an idiot doing so.

PHILADELPHIA, PA — The Temple University graduate student that is best known for the anti-Muslim student organization he founded on campus is among those conservatives attempting to smear shooting victim Trayvon Watson with an unflattering photograph that was purported to be of him but has since been proven to be a fake.

“This photo isn’t to challenge the kid’s murder, but it is to target and expose/reveal the manipulative media and how it plays into tugging at the audiences’ emotions,” Alvaro Watson wrote as he posted the photo on the Facebook page of his group Temple University Students for Intellectual Freedom. “Apparently several photos were available for the media to use. They chose one that was not up to date but rather 5 years old.”

The photo Watson chose to use however, of a shirtless black teen with sagging pants and giving the middle finger to the camera, had been confirmed on Monday, 24 hours after Watson posted it, to not be of Trayvon Martin, the 17-year-old black teen who was shot and killed by neighborhood watch captain George Zimmerman in Sanford, FL on Feb. 26. The case has gained notoriety particularly because Sanford police refused to arrest Zimmerman, taking his word that he shot the teen in self-defense, while mounting evidence is showing otherwise. Watson is still using the photo.

Watson’s group, which was formerly called Temple University Purpose, saw controversy on campus because of their events where they brought anti-Muslim speakers to campus such as Danish politician Geert Wilders, Pam Geller and Robert Spencer of Stop Islamization of America, and Former Muslims United Director Nonie Darwish. He is associated with David Horowitz’s Freedom Center, and one of his postings on Facebook was one of congratulations to Kevin DeAnna, the then-President of the White nationalist Youth for Western Civilization, for his success in getting a YWC chapter recognized as a student group at Towson University. That chapter is disbanding after a series of controversial and racist stunts by the group resulted in the departure of is faculty advisor.
