WIDOW OF BONEHEAD STRUCK BY LIGHTNING FILES LAWSUIT AGAINST HIS EMPLOYERS

When reputed Atlantic City “Skins” leader Bryan Bradley was struck by lightning last September while working for a casino that just opened, we knew the lawsuit was just a matter of time, so this is just an update.

The widow of the reputed head of the Atlantic City “Skins” filed a wrongful death lawsuit on Wednesday against Tishman Construction and Network Construction Company of Pleasantville, N.J. stemming from his death that occurred as he was struck by lightning as he worked on the Revel Casino in Atlantic City, which opened earlier this week.

The lawsuit, according to NBC Philadelphia, claims that construction work at the Revel should have stopped last year due to the lightning storms. Bradley was killed on Sept. 15 when a lightning bolt hit a crane that was near him. Two other lawsuits were filed by workers who were also injured in the strike.

“Their decision robbed me of my husband and closest friend, robbed my children of a father who loved them passionately and robbed Bryan of his life.” Carmen Bradley said at a press conference on Wednesday. “My sons and I are now left to live our lives without him. It is a devastating reality and more devastating than this is the fact that it was 100% preventable.”

John Gallagher, First Vice President of Public Affairs for Tishman Construction, pointed to the OSHA investigation that followed the accident in his statement on the lawsuit. “Although we cannot comment on pending litigation, we were not cited or found to be at fault by any entity investigating the incident last year, including OSHA,” he said, although according to a press release by the Larrimer & Larrimer legal firm, they were indeed cited and fined $3000.

Revel Casino is not named in any of the lawsuits.
