This simply belongs in the “When it Rains, it Pours” department! There hasn’t been anything connecting Misty Cook to the slayings at the Sikh Temple her boyfriend committed, but weapons charges still put her away.

MILWAUKEE, WI–Misty Cook, the former girlfriend of the Hammerskin Nation member who gunned down six people in a Sikh temple before reportedly turning the gun on himself in Oak Creek, Wisconsin, was arrested on weapons charges after police found a firearm in her home, according to ABC News.
“In a joint investigation with the FBI, the South Milwaukee Police Department has arrested Misty Cook on the crime of felon in possession of a firearm,” a statement from the Milwaukee Police Department read. “Charges will be sought through the Milwaukee County District Attorney’s Office.”
Cook, 31, had been convicted in 2005 of fleeing an eluding a traffic officer and barred by that conviction from owning a handgun. She lived with her boyfriend Wade Mitchell Page, 40, from March 1 to sometime in June when they broke up, weeks before he went into the suburban Milwaukee temple and randomly began shooting temple-goers. The FBI has recently revised current reports to reflect that Page had shot and killed himself at the scene.
Page was a longtime associate of the Hammerskin Nation (HSN), playing in HSN-associated bands for years before reportedly becoming a full member in 2001. Like Page, Cook is a white supremacist and has been seen in a picture wearing the shirt of a rival crew called Volksfront. Volksfront has put out a statement, however, saying that Cook has not been involved with their organization since 2008, and that they have never been associated with Page at all.
The FBI says that Cook’s arrest is not linked to the slayings.
