CADILLAC, MI-Colin Therrian, who was a member of two bands connected to the white power music scene, has been arrested and charged with manslaughter after a bar fight where he threw one punch and killed the man he was arguing with.

According to UpNorthLive.com, Police were called to the Busy Bee Bar in Cadillac at 2am on September 13, and learned Randy Taylor, 57, was arguing with Therrian, 26, of Cadillac in the parking lot when Taylor was punched in the face, causing him to fall to the ground  and hit his head on the asphalt.  Taylor was taken to Spectrum Hospital in Grand Rapids where he underwent surgery for a brain injury and later died. On Monday, Therrian, 26, was charged with involuntary manslaughter and his bond was set at $100,000 cash.

Therrian played in the white-power band Total War until their breakup a few years ago and currently was in the band Major Disappointment, both based out of Michigan. Until their breakup several years ago, Total War was a band that has played a number of white power events like “Uprise 2008” and NSM concerts in Michigan and South Carolina. The band, which also included National Socialist Movement (NSM) member Dan Carlson, has put out songs with titles such as “Hatred is My Life”, “Your Mother (Is A N—–r Lover)” and “ARA” which takes shots at the group Anti-Racist Action. They had releases distributed by the white power record label Label 56, which also released recordings by Definite Hate and End Apathy, two bands that Hammerskin member Wade Michael Page belonged to. Last month, Page shot and killed six people attending a Sikh temple in Wisconsin before turning the gun on himself.

Major Disappointment, which ironically has a song titled “Charges Pending”, was Carlson and Therrian’s attempt to be a more mainstream band, but when their connections to racist groups were discovered, the venues they attempted to book would remove them from the bill.  Label 56 interviewed the band at an unknown time, with Therrian being referred to as “Rod” as a discussion arose about his then-recent release from jail. “He was just in county jail although he probably belongs in prison hahaha,” Major Disappointment’s lead singer said. “He had been in several fights in a short period of time and eventually they caught up to him.”

If convicted of the crime, Therrian faces 15 years in prison.
