We have unfortunate news that yet another person was arrested for last year’s melee with boneheads in Tinley Park, and while researching that story we learned that one of the boneheads arrested on child pornography got a pretty sweet deal from prosecutors. You’re going to love this crap.

Another man has been charged in last year’s altercation with white supremacists dining at a Tinley Park family restaurant, according to reports. This arrest comes as it is learned that one of those white supremacists pled guilty in May to child pornography charges, and although he is sentenced to jail time will not be required as a sex offender.
Richard Hammond of Chicago, IL was charged with armed violence, aggravated battery and mob action on Thursday, Tinley Park Police Chief Steve Neubauer said. He is the sixth defendant to be charged in connection with the melee. The charge stems from the May 19 altercation at the Ashford House between antifa and white supremacists who were attending the 5th annual White Nationalist Economic Summit and Illinois White Nationalist Meet-and-Greet put on in Tinley Park, IL by an organization called the Illinois European Heritage Association. Five were arrested as they tried to leave the parking lot, and later pled guilty to the charges in January. They are now currently serving prison sentences of 3 ½ to 6 years. Ten meeting attendees were injured.
In addition to the antifa that were arrested, two neo-Nazis were also taken into custody on outstanding warrants. Francis John Gilroy, Jr. of West Palm Beach, Florida who posts under the name “Copperhead” on Stormfront, was charged with unlawful possession of a firearm by a felon while David Eugene Speers of Grand Forks, North Dakota was arrested on a child pornography warrant from Dallas, Texas. At press time, it is not known the status of Gilroy’s case. In May, Speers reached a deal with Dallas County prosecutors where he pled guilty to the reduced charge of improper photography. All other charges, which included possession of child pornography with intent to distribute, were dismissed. He was sentenced to 11 months in prison, but was given credit for time served. Speers was incarcerated since June 2012. The improper photography charge means he also does not have to register as a sex offender.
An effort to raise money for Hammond’s legal fees has been started by supporters.
