2014 is going to be a great year for One People’s Project, and you can help!
Daryle Lamont Jenkins
One People’s Project is going to be working on a major endeavor that we intend to transform and extend our mission. We are working on efforts to create a archival/research library that will house documents, videos, audio recordings and other items that we have collected over the years. These items will be available to scholars, students, reporters and other types of researchers who are trying to get information for their own projects.
This library will not just be politically related. It will be cultural and educational items. We will also be encouraging other organizations and individuals to contribute items they would want to have archived in our library.
Currently we are trying to figure out how we can raise funds for this effort. We have never been awash with funds, and this effort is not going to come cheap. But money is not the only thing we need. We are also going to require equipment such as scanners, computers and a/v equipment (I for one have a LOT of videos and tapes – many of them masters – that need to be made into digital files before tapes deteriorate further). In addition, we are going to need office space and in time possibly a building of our own. A wish list for the group is below.
Any help that the public can provide will be greatly appreciated, and when all is said and done, this will be a longlasting endeavor that all of us will value.
Sincerely,
Daryle Lamont Jenkins

Our preliminary wish list is for:
File cabinets in good condition. Media cabinets are needed too. This is the first thing we are seeking because this starts us organizing and filing. We are also going to need file folders.
Video and audio tape decks (VHS, 8mm, 3/4″, cassette, reel-to-reel, preferably professional grade)
Computers that will be used for scanning and creating digital video files
Commercial grade document scanners
The usual office furniture
Office space, but that is HIGHLY sensitive.
