Pennsylvania Governor Tom Corbett signed the death warrant Monday for a corrections officer and probate for the Vinlander Social Club (VSC) who shot and murdered his girlfriend and their 2-year-old son five years ago.
According to news reports, Michael John Parrish, 28, is scheduled to be executed on Oct. 14. He was sentenced to death in May 2012 for the July 6, 2009 shooting deaths of Victoria Adams and their son Sidney. Parrish believed that Adams. was cheating on him and she was attempting to break up with him and leave their Effort, PA home with their son to live with her family in New York. Parrish and fellow VSC probate Conrad Jankowski were arrested in New Hampshire a day later while attempting to flee to Canada, and Jankowski served less than two years for hindering apprehension. At the time of his arrest, Parrish was a corrections officer for the Monroe County, PA Correctional Facility
Parrish had claimed to have converted to Islam by the time he was sentenced, where at the time he declared, “I bear witness that Allah is the one and only true God and Muhammad is His messenger.” Before he was arrested however, his associations was with that of neo-Nazis. In the wake of the murders, the VSC attempted to deny that he was associated with them, but were silent as photos surfaced with him and Jankowski posing with Vinlanders. The New York/New Jersey chapter of the VSC, once the group’s most active chapter, has since fallen apart, although a smaller VSC is still active and participated in the Leif Erickson Day Rally organized by the Keystone State “Skinheads” in Oct 2013. Victoria Adams had a You Tube video channel where she posted videos of her swastika tattoo and sparred regularly with commenters to her channel because of her political views, but her family has denied she was involved with hate politics.
During his tenure as governor, Corbett has signed 36 death warrants, but no one has been executed in the state of Pennsylvania since the 1999 execution of Gary Heidnik, who was given two death sentences for murdering two women he had imprisoned in his home.
