FRANK GAFFNEY TO JARED TAYLOR: ‘ I APPRECIATE TREMENDOUSLY THE WORK YOU’RE DOING AT AMERICAN RENAISSANCE…KEEP IT UP!’

Despite being the Assistant Secretary of Defense for International Security Policy under President Reagan and his Center for Security Policy (CSP) touting itself as pioneering “the organization, management and direction of public policy coalitions to promote U.S. national security,” the organization says its Founder and President Frank Gaffney was “unfamiliar” with the White Supremacist views of his podcast’s recent guest, American Renaissance publisher Jared Taylor, as they discussed the Syrian refugee crisis in Europe.

Taylor appeared on the Sept. 29 podcast of Gaffney’s Secure Freedom Radio podcast to discuss the crisis, which came as a result of refugees fleeing the civil war in Syria in recent weeks. Particularly, according to the CSP website, Taylor and Gaffney discussed “the death of Europe, how (German Chancellor) Angela Merkel is perpetuating the refugee crisis, and why Eastern Europe has taken such a strong stance on migrant acceptance.” In addition, Taylor rejected the notion that those fleeing from Syria were even refugees. “Most of the people that are pouring into Europe now don’t have a ghost of a shadow of a claim to be legitimate refugees under the UN definition,” Taylor said on the podcast. “They’re coming because they have made a mess of their own countries, and they want to live in a country that works better, and Europe works better than all of these places they’re coming from.”

The UN Definition of Refugees is defined as anyone who “owing to well-founded fear of being persecuted for reasons of race, religion, nationality, membership of a particular social group or political opinion, is outside the country of his nationality and is unable or, owing to such fear, is unwilling to avail himself of the protection of that country; or who, not having a nationality and being outside the country of his former habitual residence as a result of such events, is unable or, owing to such fear, is unwilling to return to it.”

The biggest concern for Gaffney and Taylor was how the refugees would change the makeup of Europe, and what they would bring to the continent, saying that most of them are refugees who are strong adherents to Shariah Law and “have probably never seen a woman in a bikini in their lives”. In a rather bold statement, Taylor also told Gaffney that should things continue to go in this direction, it may take a violent response to push back on the millions fleeing Syria. “I certainly hope that does not happen,” Taylor said. “On the other hand, if that is what it takes for Europe to survive as Europe, than I think that is better than Europe facing oblivion. We have unleashed now what I think would be not an exaggeration to call almost demonic forces.”

The Council on American–Islamic Relations (CAIR) a prominent Muslim civil rights advocacy group released a statement in the wake of this podcast, noting that Gaffney is a noted anti-Muslim activist that most recently saw his Center for Security Policy sponsor a Capitol Hill rally Sept. 9 featuring presidential candidates Ted Cruz and Donald Trump, as well as Gaffney who spoke at the rally. “Gaffney is a key promoter of the bizarre conspiracy theory that Muslims in public service are infiltrating the government on behalf of the Muslim Brotherhood,” the CAIR statement read. “He has questioned ‘whether Mr. Obama is a natural born citizen of the United States,’ claimed the Missile Defense Agency logo is part of a ‘worrying pattern of official U.S. submission to Islam,’ claimed an aide to Hillary Clinton is a secret Muslim Brotherhood operative, and was a key witness for the plaintiffs in a controversial lawsuit seeking to block construction of a Tennessee mosque. He has also promoted the false belief that President Obama is a Muslim.”

CSP  Manager of Public Information Alex VanNess released a statement denying Gaffney supports Taylor. “The interview with Jared Taylor addressed exclusively a recent article by him concerning the dire implications for Europe, its people and civilization of large numbers of migrants from nations in which shariah-adherence is the norm,” the statement read. “The host was unfamiliar with Mr. Taylor’s views on other matters and did not discuss or endorse them.”

On the podcast however, Gaffney praised what he called a “wonderful online publication, American Renaissance”, and in particular Jared Taylor himself. “I appreciate tremendously the work you’re doing at American Renaissance and the New Century Foundation,” Gaffney said. “Keep it up.” Taylor’s name originally appeared on the podcast’s website, alongside the other guests that day, Rep. Ileana Ros-Lehtinen, Former Federal Prosecutor Andy McCarthy and Dr. Michael Auslin of the American Enterprise Institute. The following day however, his name and podcast segment was removed from the webpage, although the segment is still available.
