Maricopa County (AZ) Sherrif Joe Arpaio loves publicity. He loves showing the \t\t\tworld how “tough” he is to people who “break the law”, even if in the end the laws he is breaking \t\t\tare worse than the ones he incarcerates people for. He loves boasting about how he takes on groups like Amnesty \t\t\tInternational and other assorted leftists and no one can lay a glove on him. He has been called a Nazi, and he \t\t\tshrugs it off. He even says he wears it like a badge of honor. Well, we’re wondering why if he is so unstoppable, \t\t\twhy he can’t answer a few questions about the Nazis he was seen friendly with recently. After all, he’s not afraid \t\t\tof anythng, right? We can’t lay a glove on him, right? Maybe it is the whole thing about how after over a decade \t\t\tof his BS, the feds are looking into it all, and he just might be seeing the handwriting on the wall. Oh, how it \t\t\tmust suck for him that the handwriting can pretty much be the captions to the pictures some of his “fans” \t\t\ttook of him. We won’t say goodbye just yet to Mr. Arpaio, but we are damn sure loving this!<\/p>\n

As mentioned in a previous blog post, at \t\t\t\t\tSaturday’s Walk for Respect to Joe Arpaio’s Tent City<\/a>, I spoke with neo-Nazis J.T. Ready and “Vito Lombardi,” \t\t\t\t\tboth of whom were throwing up the sieg heil sign as they verbally attacked the marchers passing by on Durango Street. \t\t\t\t\tThey told me that Joe had stopped by earlier and spoken\u00a0with each of them. Ready said Arpaio called him by \t\t\t\t\this initials “J.T.,” and Lombardi bragged of getting a photo with the sheriff. But I held off on reporting \t\t\t\t\tthis until I got some sort of confirmation.<\/p>\n

Well, confirmation came today, as spotted by activist Carlos \t\t\t\t\tGarcia of the civil rights group Puente<\/a>. Seems United for a Sovereign America member Lynne Stevens, aka, “Jackie 40d<\/a>,” has what appears to be footage of Arpaio stopping \t\t\t\t\tby the neo-Nazis, exchaging pleasantries with them, and allowing them to take pictures. (J.T. was actually further \t\t\t\t\tdown with a gaggle of nativists when this particular scene transpired, so I can’t verify if Joe called him by name.) \t\t\t\t\tNational Socialist Movement member Lombardi scores a personal photograph with the sheriff after telling him, “We’ve \t\t\t\t\tgot your back.” The sheriff (it definitely sounds like\u00a0his voice)\u00a0advises the neo-Nazis (and Stevens) \t\t\t\t\tthat the marchers are about an hour away. The only prob is that in the video, Arpaio is in the shadows.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Then today, Lombardi threw up his pic with “America’s Toughest Sheriff” on Stormfront.org<\/a>, \t\t\t\t\t\tthe online, white supremacist message board. Though Arpaio is in the dark, you can make out his face.<\/p>\n

“About an hour before the reds and the Mexicans marched by us,” recounts Lombardi in the Stormfront \t\t\t\t\t\tpost, “our Sheriff came by to thank and say hello to his supporters. He stopped first by where the NSM members \t\t\t\t\t\tand JT Ready were standing. I, Vito Lombardi even got a full uniform shot with the Sheriff.”<\/p>\n

Lombardi continues: “When the reds and the illegal scum marched by us. [sic] Me, JT and Harry exploded \t\t\t\t\t\twith emotion, it was like nothing I had ever experienced in my life. We 3 were on the front lines, and were the \t\t\t\t\t\tfirst people the communist scum saw. We even stopped the march because the communists were in such disgust of us \t\t\t\t\t\tstanding on the Mexican flag, and giving our honorable salute. I had a great time at this rally.”<\/p>\n

No doubt the pic helped make Lombardi’s day. And they say ol’ Joe\u00a0doesn’t have a heart…<\/p>\n

Lombardi’s account was bolstered by neo-Nazi \t\t\t\t\t\tHarry, aka, “Vandal,” whose Yahoo blog had this to say<\/a>:<\/p>\n

“Sheriff Joe Arpaio, the world’s toughest sheriff, stopped by along with his security detail and I said \t\t\t\t\t\thello, exchanged a few comments and took his picture.”<\/p>\n

If our eyes are to be believed, why is a top law enforcement official giving the time of day to a bunch of neo-Nazis, \t\t\t\t\t\tmuch less photo ops and info on protesters? Not that Joe hasn’t hobnobbed with goosesteppers before. Back in 2008, \t\t\t\t\t\tSheriff Joe spoke\u00a0before a crowd of United for a Sovereign America members. U.S.A. has allowed neo-Nazis to \t\t\t\t\t\tjoin its group, and on \t\t\t\t\t\tthe evening Joe spoke, old-time Arizona neo-Nazi Elton Hall was present, cheering him on.<\/a><\/p>\n

Is Arpaio so desperate for attention and support tha
\nt he needs Hitler-worshippers in his camp? When \t\t\t\t\t\tI challenged Joe on meeting with U.S.A. back in 2008<\/a>, he blustered that he talks to “everybody.” \t\t\t\t\t\tI got the same response from his top flack\u00a0Lisa Allen. Seems there’s no shame in their game. Even when it \t\t\t\t\t\tcomes to Arpaio rubbing shoulders with swastika-lovers.<\/p>\n

(For the record, I called Arpaio for comment using his home number. The first time, his wife answered, and said \t\t\t\t\t\tJoe wouldn’t be back till later. The second time, I got their voice mail.
