\"Idiot\"What’s particularly curious about Richwine’s resignation is how not only the paleoconservatives are doing their usual routine of playing martyr whenever someone removes their ilk from the mainstream, but how mainstream conservatives, some who are known for associating with the paleos, are killing themselves defending Richwine for his doctoral thesis promoting eugenics! The posturing from Ann Coulter<\/a>, who defended the Council of Conservative Citizens in one of her books, and Michelle “The World’s Darkest White Supremacist” Malkin<\/a>, who contributes to the white supremacist website VDARE, were expected, but we need to send Rush Limbaugh<\/a> a thank you note for showing HIS ass! On the other hand, mad props go out to Rachel Maddow for outright destroying the paleos on her show last week!<\/h3>\n

Jason Richwine, the co-author of a controversial immigration study released this week by the Heritage Foundation, tells Post Politics that he has resigned his position with the organization.<\/p>\n

\u201cYes, that\u2019s right,\u201d Richwine wrote in a brief e-mail. Heritage confirmed that he resigned.<\/p>\n

The study written by Richwine and Robert Rector argued that the immigration reform bill would cost $6.3 trillion<\/a>, but it was widely panned by conservative groups pushing for immigration reform as not accounting for the economic benefits of immigrants.<\/p>\n

Complicating matters were a series of revelations about Richwine, including that he had written a doctoral thesis at Harvard University arguing that the United States shouldfocus its immigration efforts on those with high IQs<\/a> and that he had written for a Web site that describes itself as \u201cnationalist.\u201d<\/a><\/p>\n
