Well we knew SOMETHING was going to eff up professional gloryhound Adam Kokesh’s plans to hold what he called an “armed revolt” in Washington, DC on July 4. Kind of knew it was going to be an arrest of some sort, something that would guarentee weeks, months, possibly years of more attention than he could ever imagine courtesy of some “Free Adam” crowd that is now sprouting up like a weed. And with all of this going on his Philly, we are just going to sit back and enjoy the show!<\/h3>\n<\/p>\n
\u201cAdam has appeared in front of a judge and from the looks of it he is in good health,\u201d Kokesh\u2019s \u201cbusiness manager\u201d Lucas Jewell posted on his Facebook page. \u201cHe remained silent throughout the entire process not even speaking to the lawyer that I coordinated with earlier.\u201d <\/p>\n Kokesh was arrested during the \u201cSmoke Down Prohibition\u201d rally that has been organized by the Philadelphia chapter of the National Organization for the Reform of Marijuana Laws (NORML) to openly defy what they see is unjust laws against the use of marijuana. According to court documents<\/a>, the May 18 arrest stemmed from when National Park Service Rangers attempted to approach a person reportedly holding a marijuana cigarette that Kokesh had locked arms with. Moments earlier, Kokesh was on a microphone encouraging people to smoke and form a tight circle to hinder law enforcement. \u201cAs the Ranger approached the person with the cigarette, Kokesh physically blocked and obstructed the Ranger,\u201d the report read. \u201cAs the Ranger pushed forward, Kokesh grabbed the Ranger by the arm to hold him back. Kokesh was then taken into custody.\u201d <\/p>\n Kokesh, 31, is a controversial activist who served in While he has opposed the event \u201cIslamo-Facism Awareness Week\u201d at On May 2, Kokesh announced that he was organizing an \u201cOpen Carry March on Washington\u201d for July 4 where he intended to march from Arlington National Cemetery and into Washington, DC in what was going to be what the event\u2019s Facebook page <\/a><\/span>calls \u201c an act of civil disobedience, not a permitted event\u201d Curiously, a white supremacist group was promoting a similar event on the same day in the same city just weeks before<\/a>.<\/span><\/p>\n It has been opined that Kokesh, who is currently being held without bond, was arrested to prevent him from having his rally. According to Jewell, Kokesh has a detention hearing on Thursday at 1:30 after his refusal to answer basic questions. \u201cThe reason for the detention hearing is because Adam will not speak on if he owns fire arms or his address,\u201d Jewell wrote.<\/p>\n
