The Council of Conservative Citizens is catching some well-deserved hell. The only regret is that founder Gordon Lee Baum<\/a> died back in March<\/a>, missing all the fun. That just means we will just take it out on the boneheads that are left, such as the C of CC President.<\/h3>\n

One People’s Project<\/h2>\n

The blog The Lamp<\/em><\/a> has posted a article<\/a> on Earl P. Holt III, the President of the Council of Conservative Citizens (C of CC), that was exposed by media outlets as a frequent donor to high profile Republican candidates, most notably those running for President.<\/p>\n

The anti-fascist blog – that is a partner of One People’s Project – posted the article in response to the news that Dylann Roof, who confessed to killing nine African Americans in a historic church in Charleston, South Carolina, wrote in his manifesto that he was inspired to be active in racist politics by what he read on the Council of Conservative Citizens website. Earl Holt published a statement noting that the C of CC does not advocate violence, but despite that, there are still issues with the organizations, according to the Lamp. \u201cWhile Holt claims it is not in the nature of the CofCC members to carry out or promote illegal activities, this doesn\u2019t mean he or his members are good people either, in fact we have found that Holt is a pretty revolting individual,\u201d the Lamp wrote.<\/p>\n

The Guardian published an article<\/a> noting that Earl Holt has given over $65,000 to Republican campaign funds in recent years, among them Sens. Ted Cruz, Rand Paul, who has also taken donations<\/a> from C of CC member Virginia Abernethy<\/a>, and Rick Santorum, all presidential candidates. Others such as Sens. Tom Cotton and Joni Ernst and Rep. Steve King among others also received money from Holt. Most have said they would donate those funds to charity, some particularly to the Mother Emanuel Hope Fund, named for the church where the shootings took place, to assist the victims families.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
