The neo-Confederates punked out and decided it wasn&#8217;t a good idea to hold their little rally!<\/h3>\n<p>  <!--more-->  <\/p>\n<h2><a target=\"_blank\" href=\"http:\/\/www.unicornriot.ninja\/?p=1917\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Unicorn Riot<\/a><\/h2>\n<p>In August of 2015, a group by the name of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/mn10000forsouthernheritage.official\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">\u201cMinnesota 10,000 for Southern Heritage\u201d<\/a>, received a <a href=\"http:\/\/www.mprnews.org\/story\/2015\/08\/19\/confederate-flag-rally\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">permit<\/a> to rally at the capitol in support of the confederate flag.<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/player.vimeo.com\/video\/138418728\" width=\"500\" height=\"281\" frameborder=\"0\" webkitallowfullscreen=\"\" mozallowfullscreen=\"\" allowfullscreen=\"true\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>A Facebook event to counter-protest the permitted confederate flag rally, named <a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/events\/547381085409148\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Unity Against White Supremacy &amp; the Confederate Flag<\/a>, and organized by the IWW GDC (Industrial Workers of the World | General Defense Committee), drew the RSVP of over 400 people.<\/p>\n<p>On the early morning of Saturday, September 5th, 2015, the counter-protest marched to the capitol from a location close to the site of Marcus Golden\u2019s death by the bullets of St. Paul police officers.<\/p>\n<p>Before the march took off to the capitol, a speaker announced that the confederate flag rally had been cancelled and that the action was victorious in not allowing space for racists.<\/p>\n<p>While reaching the Christopher Columbus statue on capitol grounds, the crowd chanted of \u201ctear it down\u201d, referring to the statue, which is a representation of white supremacy to many of the participants.<\/p>\n<p>Speakers ranging from Black Lives Matter organizers to Native Lives Matter to IWW and others spoke about the importance of collectively combating racism while a confederate flag was torn apart and burned.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>And the best part about it?
